used Ford Explorer
A: different for every state on both questions.
most states are 16. california is slowly stepping up to 18 i think right now theyre at 16.5 soon to be 17. and in montana its something like 14.
i just bought a 94 eddie bauer bronco with a 5.8L engine (the big one) and in immaculate condition with 106k mi for $4800 and it runs like its brand new.
my roomate just bought a 2001 explorer for $4200 in slightly less than perfect condition with a 4.0L v6
Q: Question about a used ford explorer suv?
I am interested in buying a 1996 used ford explorer that has 185,000 miles. I am hesitant because of the mileage but the vehicle is in pretty good keeped condition. Should I buy it? Its for sale for 1300.
A: You don’t get much for $1300. for peace of mind, have a mechanic
check it out, otherwise go for it!
Q: How can I find out if my used ford explorer is still under factory warranty?
I do not want to contact the Ford dealer or where I bought it from.
A: Most Ford’s come with a 3 year 36,000 or 50,000 mile warranty. If you have passed that most likely you don’t have a warranty. But whats the big deal about contacting a Ford dealer? call them, tell them the year and make and model and they can tell you for sure if you still have a warranty.
Q: Which used car would you purchase: A certified used 2006 Ford Explorer or a 2007 Ford Edge?
The Explorer has less than 21k miles and is in great condition. It’s certified used by Ford but has worse gas mileage than the Edge.
The Edge has 18k mi, but the CARFAX report shows an accident and damage to the front of the vehicle. No damage is apparent upon inspection of the car, but the extent of the damage is uncertain. I like the design of the Edge, but am reluctant due to uncertain damages.
A: Without doubt , buy the Explorer , never buy a accident repaired car.The Explorer gives 18mpg
and the Edge 21 mpg , but the Explorer is more spacious, can seat 7, and is built more sturdy than the Edge, and above all its a certified vehicle.
Q: Would you buy an used Ford Explorer over Honda Odyssey?
I need a minivan desperately. I am thinking of all options… Used Sienna, Odyssey, Explorer (more of SUV than minivan), Mazda5… Not sure which one do I prefer.
I am looking to keep the vehicle for a timeframe of 1.5 years.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A: An Explorer is not a minivan at all, it’s a truck based SUV – not even remotely comparable to an Odyssey or Sienna. It doesn’t have nearly as much room as either. The upside of an explorer is you can buy used ones cheap, but they don’t get as good gas mileage as an Odyssey. The Mazda5 is a minivan, but much smaller and less roomy, and you probably won’t find many used since they haven’t been around long. If they are big enough for you, they are better on gas because of the smaller size and four cylinder engine (try to find one with a stick).
The Odyssey is probably the best minivan out there (close second to the Sienna), but if you’re just looking for a relatively short term, you can get a used Ford Windstar/Freestar for a lot less. They aren’t as roomy inside, but still roomier than the Explorer or Mazda5, and are pretty durable.
Hope this helps you
Q: Where can i get a used 1997 Ford Explorer V6 engine?
My 1997 Ford Explorer V6 engine shattered a piston and bent three con rods and valves. I need to replace it. Any ideas also where i can order the liner kit from. i would like to compare the costs of the alternatives.
A: junk yard
Q: I am looking to buy a used Ford Explorer. Anyone have one for sale?
Color is really not an issue unless it’s red (no red) and mileage doesn’t matter that much. However, let’s talk about price.
I’m looking in the South Central Indiana area.
A: Try looking on http://www.craigslist.org
Q: I bought a used 2001 Ford Explorer and it has the keypad on the door to unlock it but I don’t know the combo?
I bought a used 2001 For Explorer Sport and it has a keypad on the outside to unlock the car but I don’t know the combination. It has all of the manuels but it doesn’t say the combo.
Is there a way for me to reset it? Or can I find out what it is?
A: My local Ford dealer wants $25 to look up the code(but they are big Aholes).
Q: Can a 96 ford explorer wheel rims be used on a 2008 ford escape?
I have a set of 235/75r15 tires and aloy rims from a 96 Ford Explorer sport. can these rims be used on a new 2008 Escape. I would like to use them for winter tires so I just change rims rather than have to get the tires changed each season.
A: No,define’ly not.I’d better suggest you get the tires changed each season, although that maybe hectic.
Q: Opinions on buying a used 2004 Ford Explorer?
It has 4×4, 88,508 miles on it and they’re asking $8,864 for it. It looks great. Is this a good deal. Anyone had bad/good experiences owning an 04 Ford Explorer? Thanks
A: sounds like deal to me
Q: What is the average price for a quality paint job on mid-sized SUV, like a Ford Explorer?
I recently bought a used ford explorer and am not satisfied with the paint. It has chips, discoloration, etc. I was just curiuos what it would cost to get a new pant job for it.
A: if you go to someone
Just ask some
friends if they
that paints cars.
But you would
probably be lookin
at around $300-$800
Hope i helped

Q: What do you guys think of a used ‘98 ford explorer?
1998 Ford Explorer XLT SOHO
amazing condition/ no dents or anything
but i have no idea how the engine or transmision works
and i cant afford to take it to a dealer or mechanic to check it out
so what are some common problems with fords?
and what do you think about it?
A: The biggest concern with those with the 4.0 SOHC engine was the timing chain tensioners. If you’ve got a problem with those, your best bet for repair is a dealer. There are special tools to set the timing on them, the easiest thing to check for is a ticking noise from the engine. You could also have a dealership run the VIN number and see if repairs were already made. Other than that they were really good vehicles.
