Q: Should I buy the 2000 ford explorer?
I saw a ford explorer for $2995, should I buy this vehicle? It is in very good condition but it has 141,000 miles. Help!!!!
A: $2995 is not far off what it’s worth in good condition assuming its 4WD and fairly loaded. Miles are a tad high for that kind of price but if it’s fully loaded and you can get it for abour $2300 with 140K miles on it then you are prettymuch bang on.
Q: Should I buy a 2000 Ford Explorer for $3800 with only 63,000 miles on it?
A: seems to be goood to be true cuz that’s a steal!!! good price for an suv!! first check history like accidents and the engine
Q: How do you replace the center console of a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT?
I just bought a 2000 Ford Explorer XLT and I want to know how to replace the center console. On the back of the console, it has a control center to control the radio and the air. Is it going to be hard to replace? Do you just unscrew it, or do you pull it out? Please help!
A: im not really sure on the 2000 explorer but i know with my 94 explorer when i take apart anything all i have to do is take out all the screws, you should be able to take some of the parts out (change holder and such), when you get to the electronic parts there shopuld be enough room to push the controls through. some of them have a clip that you can lift and it can come out as one. my only other advice would be to go to a part store and pick up a Haynes manual, they run about $15. hope this helps

Q: Is a 1996-2000 Ford Explorer (100k+mi) sport or non sport a good car to buy for my 16 year old?
He probably won’t use it much, we live in a small town. Probably just to get to school and hang w/friends on the weekend.
A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – autoinsurance.maclenet.com
Q: Lost my 2000 ford explorer key and remote, can I buy them off google and have dealership reprogram?
A: Dealer won’t touch customer provided parts.
Q: I bought a 2000 ford explorer. It has this sound in the front end that is really loud.?
loud. It sounds like it has really big fat tires and makes that vibration like sound. Kinda like when you first put new tires on a truck and it sounds funny at first. It does not have big or new tires on it, so what could be making that sound?
A: Tire might of thrown a weight, have them rebalanced, if that does not work have the front end alighned
Q: Questions regarding running board on ford explorer?
Hello! We just bought a 2000 ford explorer sport for our daughter. It has 60,000 miles and is in great shape except for the running boards. There is rust on the running boards on both sides.
My question is, would it be possible to buy running boards on ebay and then have a mechanic install them? If so how much would we be looking to spend on the installation? I have priced some running boards on ebay at around 255 dollars.
Thanks for your input and take care!
A: you can get them cheaper then that. just go to the parts store and have them ordered.
Q: Is a 2000 ford explorer with 190,000 miles on it for $2695 a good buy?
Is a 2000 ford explorer with 190,000 miles on it for $2695 a good buy?
Im going tomorrow, to look at a 2000 for explorer for 2695, Im a little concerned about the mileage on it, but it looks really clean and nice. Its about a hour drive, im a little worried i’ll be wasting my time.. I just need some opions on the pros and cons on buying a car with high mileage.
A: I wouldn’t worry about the miles as much as the price… I can get you a better/newer car with less miles for a lot less money.
Q: how much of a risk is buying a 2000 ford explorer sport as far as rollovers?
i need a little help with this if you have any answers plz help or if you have any sources to go to that would be good as well thanks
A: they don’t rollover on their own.
the issue in the past was shoddy tires from Firestone.
Q: 1997 & 2000 Ford Explorer has a funny sound from under the front end, not the engine compartment. What is it?
MY son has a 2000 Ford Explorer & I have a 1997 Ford Explorer (altho mine if 11 years old, only has 80,000 miles) I noticed his car made a funny sound, like wub-wub-wub coming out from under his car and he said it is probably a tire of balancing, or alignment. Well I just bought a 1997 Ford Explorer and low and behold, I have the same funny sound – wub-wub-wub. I took it in for a complete check-up, oil change, serpentine belt, radiator flush, and 4 NEW COOPER TIRES, complete with balancing. I told the garage that the sound was there and he said he could find nothing to pin it on altho I don’t think it is as pronounced and before. What could be causing this sound. I drive with my ears as well as my eyes, nose, taste, and feel. Could this sound be caused by that protective cover just beside the wheel – it seems to be a cover to keep mud and debris from getting at the other components of the undercarraige. PULLLeeeezzze – Somebody tell me what is causing the wub-wub-wub sound. Thanks
A: It might be a piece of plastic flapping or something. It is probably wind noise. An explorer has the aerodynamic properties of a fridge.
“I drive with my ears as well as my eyes, nose, taste, and feel”
Remember, keep your hands on the wheel, your feet on the peddles, your eyes on the road … and don’t sniff or lick the tailpipe anymore. People are starting to wonder about you.

Q: Is a 2000 Ford Explorer good for a first time driver?
I am 16 years old, almost 17 and i’ve been working and i’ve finally saved up enough money to buy a decent car. I looked around on craigs list and i found this awesome 2000 ford explorer for 3500. Is this a good car for me? I don’t drive too much, just when i can borrow my mom’s car. I plan on driving this car across the country when i graduate. so, is this a good choice?
A: Ford explorer is a good choice. They are safe and dependable.
A 3500 dollar truck will need some work before you drive out to the middle of Iowa. Usually a car this old it is time to replace struts, shocks and rubber bushings. Normallly around town these aren’t a big deal but i can make the car pull or tires wear funny. On long trips that can be uncomfortable to fight wht the wheel.
Dirve it. Check it out good. Make sure that the car is mechanically sound not just claned up real good to look nice. You want a good engine and transmission. Don’t be fooled by nice rims or stereo.
Once you get it you can get it ready for your trip little at a time. Replace belts, hoses, get some tires ect.
