A: You should be able to buy a replacement part at any car parts store like autozone or your local ford dealer. The replacement shouldn’t be difficult. Be sure to check the fuse panel and make sure you have a fuse installed to protect anything you plug into the outlet.

Q: Where is the code on my 1999 Ford Explorer?
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer and when i bought it from a used dealer i asked him what the keypad code for the door locks was and he said he was unsure and he said the code is on a sticker next to the jack in the back. i looked back there and couldnt find a code. Is there any other way to find out this code?

A: I had the same question when I got my 1999 ford explorer used. You can find it printed on a sticker on the computer, located behind the inside panel in the rear quarter driver side…..at least this is where it is located on my 1999 EB 4-door explorer.

So next to the jack “yes” behind the panel just in front of the jack.

I just bought a used Ford Explorer, but a key fob was not given to me. I can’t imagine that It wasn’t included in the original sale. Can you get a replacement from a dealer?

A: Keyless entry is an optional feature, so it’s possible that it wasn’t included on your vehicle. If it was, then a dealer should be able to provide a replacement key fob; however, you might find it’s cheaper to have an after-market keyless entry system installed, especially if you need more than one remote.

Q: 1999 ford explorer limited weird noise from rear?
I want to buy a 99 explorer, but when i test drove it i noticed a weird whistling noise coming from the rear end when i accelerated. Do you have any ideas of what that would be? Is it still worth it to buy? It does not sound like the normal exhaust sound, but something else.

A: it could be a little hole in the exhaust or muffler. usually when u accelerate and hear a noise especially form the back side of the car it is most likely due to the exhaust because as you accelerate more, more carbon monoxide should be released and there’s probably a little hole causing the whistling noise. Go check it out by your mechanic before buying it.

A: We just bought a 1998 Ford Explorer XL. It was like brand new and only had 50 thousand miles on it. The minute we got it home the radio went out. When we looked up the recalls and problems with them we found out it was common and took it out, got the part, put it in and it works like new. No big deal.

Make sure you check the Ford Recall on the internet. All you have to do is type in you VIN # and it will tell you everything that was recalled and whether or not it has been fixed for your year model. We have taken ours to the local Ford Dealership and had everything done that was not already done.

I LOVE IT! It has front and back air. Front and back am/fm radio (back one can be used with earphones) so my son can listen to his music. I went from a 1995 Pontiac Bonnivel to this. When my husband brought it home I told him he could drive it until I got in it and drove it. It’s mine now! He got himself a Limited Addition Astro Van, beautiful, low mileage and well taken care of that was equipped with a radio that is IPod excessable and has a remote. He drives me crazy with the remote.

Miledge, about 18-20-23…depends on how or where you are driving. Not bad at all.

Now, we are both happy.

My Tranny Mech offered to rebuild mine w/ new electronics for an addt’l 1900.00 I feel that is reasonable,soit’s being done as we speak.
My question is : What can be done under the NY Lemon Law for me?

A: that would not be lemon. that happens to a lot of them. the od is 1st to go out. i had a few do same thing. yes cost are about right.

A: IF ITS THE TWO DOOR SPORT MODEL YES IT HAS ONLY 1 SPRING IN THE REAR THE 4 DOOR MODEL HAS THE FULL SET IN THE REAR.YOU CAN BUY AFTER MARKET SHOCKS FROM MONROE THAT HAVE COIL SPRINGS OVER THE SHOCKS TO HELP WITH HAULING AND TOWING.I PUT THEM ON MY 99 AND IT RIDES SO MUCH BETTER.
